Reigate News is written from what people in Reigate send us, so if something is happening, tell us. Here is where to send it and what helps.
Press releases and statements
Councils, police, NHS, schools, charities, clubs and campaigns: email newsdesk@reigatenews.co.uk. We read everything the same day. Send the release in the email or as an attachment, with photographs and the name of whoever took them for the credit. If there is an embargo, say so in the subject line and we will keep to it.
Events for What’s On
Fairs, fetes, markets, gigs, talks, sport, fundraisers, open days: free events and community events go into What’s On at no charge. Send the date, time, venue, price if any, a booking or information link and a picture to newsdesk@reigatenews.co.uk.
Community, school and club news
Awards, anniversaries, fundraising totals, new facilities, a team’s results, a resident doing something remarkable: send it with a photo and a few lines. The best local stories start as an email from a reader.
Business news
Openings, moves, new owners, expansions and new services from local businesses are welcome. News that promotes a business is run as a clearly labelled sponsored article; tell us what you have and we will explain the options. Businesses can also list in our local directory and advertise with us: see Advertise.
Jobs and notices
Local vacancies go on our jobs page for 30 days. Family announcements and public notices go on the notices page. Email hello@reigatenews.co.uk with the wording.
Corrections and complaints
If we have got something wrong, email hello@reigatenews.co.uk and we will put it right and say so. Our full procedure is on the corrections and complaints page.
What helps us run it fast
- Who, what, where, when, and one fact we can check (a figure, a date, a link to the thing itself).
- Photographs as attachments, the biggest you have, with the photographer’s name.
- A name and a phone number we can call if we need to check something. We never publish them without asking.
Email newsdesk@reigatenews.co.uk for news and hello@reigatenews.co.uk for everything else.
