Pearl Shake Ltd, registered at the Redhill unit housing the Mooboo bubble tea bar, has called a creditors' meeting for 14 August to enter voluntary liquidation.
Pearl Shake Limited, the drinks retail company registered at the ground floor of 43 High Street in Redhill, has called a meeting of its creditors to put itself into voluntary liquidation. Notice of the meeting was published in The Gazette, the official public record, on 10 August (Gazette notice).
That address matters to anyone who walks the High Street: the ground floor of number 43 is the unit occupied by Redhill’s branch of Mooboo, the national bubble tea chain, which the Food Standards Agency’s hygiene register lists at 43 High Street, RH1 1RX, most recently inspected and rated 5, “very good”, on 14 August 2025.
What the record shows
The Gazette notice, dated 3 August, convenes a virtual meeting of creditors under section 100 of the Insolvency Act 1986 at 11.30pm on Friday 14 August 2026, as the notice states, with a shareholders’ meeting first to pass the winding-up resolution. It is signed by Jayatunga Doolwalagedara, the company’s director, as convener. Creditors who want to attend must email the convener’s agents, TTR Insolvency and Restructuring Limited, at support@ttrinsolvency.co.uk for access to the online meeting, and anyone voting must deliver a proof of debt by 4pm on the business day before the meeting, which falls on Thursday 13 August. Queries go to Kanani Gunawardana on 0203 504 8264.
Companies House records show Pearl Shake Limited was incorporated on 14 June 2022 and gives its business as “retail sale of beverages in specialised stores”. Its registered office has been the ground floor of 43 High Street throughout its recent history, and it is also the director’s recorded service address. The company’s annual confirmation statement, due by 22 June 2026, is marked overdue.
What it does not say
Neither the notice nor Companies House states which shop name the company traded under, and there has been no announcement about the future of the Mooboo branch itself. Mooboo’s branches are typically run by separate franchise companies: Companies House lists dozens of “Mooboo” branch companies around the country, but none named for Redhill, and Pearl Shake Limited is the beverage retailer on the register at the Redhill unit. A creditors’ voluntary liquidation is the route a company’s own shareholders take when they conclude it cannot pay its debts and should close; a liquidator is normally appointed at the creditors’ meeting, and later filings will appear on the company’s Companies House record.
What it means for you: if the company owes you money, as a supplier, employee or otherwise, the meeting on 14 August is where a liquidator is appointed and creditors’ interests are represented; contact support@ttrinsolvency.co.uk before the proofs deadline of 4pm on 13 August if you want to vote. For everyone else, the visible question is what happens to the shopfront at 43 High Street, and the answer will come from the liquidation filings and the unit itself over the coming weeks.
